Strength training for runners is a key component to running success. Exercises to strengthen the entire body including gluteus and the core can lead to reducing injury risk. Stronger muscles also means that you'll maintain longer your proper running form. Even upper body strengthening has benefits. The good part is you do not need to spend hours every day in the gym to see a substantial improvement. The key is CONSISTENCY!
Join us as we have partnered with Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor Kathy Smith to offer a 4 week Strength Training for Runners. Come dressed to exercise! We will be doing strengthening drills focusing on the core, gluteus, legs and upper body. Most will be done on the floor using your body weight or with weights. TRX strength bands will also be incorporated into training.
